The brief

Enterprise Telford was set up to drive growth and prosperity in the region. Story was brought in to raise Telford’s profile as an attractive business and inward investment destination among local, national and international audiences. We needed to showcase the unique aspects and location of Telford to businesses across key sectors, as well as boosting the social and digital profile of Enterprise Telford itself.

The challenge

  • Highlight Telford as a unique inward investment location in a competitive landscape – with Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, for example, already attracting record levels of foreign investment.
  • Showcase the hidden gems and unique offer of Telford, building on well-known features such as the Iron Bridge and local beauty spots.
  • Promote the area to potential investors by uniting a complex set of stakeholders.

The story

  • Created a top-notch communications strategy and action plan. Built up relationships with key regional, trade and national media to create a consistent feed of investment, business and stakeholder news stories.
  • Conducted multiple spokespeople briefings.
  • Delivered a collection of case studies and content to bring Telford’s story to life.
  • Offered social and digital media training for the in-house team, galvanising its online presence.
  • Gave full content, speech, presentation and communications support for Telford’s presence at MIPIM 2018, the world’s leading property market.
