In true graft and grow style, our team of storytellers have been busy. Here’s a little rundown of 2021 so far… 

Boom time for Boom Radio 

A new national radio station for the UK’s 14million Baby Boomers? Yes you heard it. Launched in lockdown with a collection of big radio personalities broadcasting from their homes, Story was tasked with setting out Boom Radio’s stall as a station for Boomers, by Boomers. 

Building on a raft of national media coverage we bagged last year, Valentine’s Day saw on air launch and blanket national TV and print media hits – 100 pieces for the go-live announcement alone. 

From Channel5’s Jeremy Vine Show to Radio 4’s Media Show, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, FT, The Sunday Telegraph (page two in print if you will), and regionals from Wales to Scotland, Cornwall to Birmingham – you can’t move for Boom, and we love to see it. 

The power of purpose

The stories we love are ones with real impact. The ones that hit a nerve and you end up sharing. Our work on Anthony Collins Solicitors annual Social Impact Report was one of those. Bringing to life how the firm’s work has positively impacted real lives, we created a series of nine films and amplified them with hard hitting social media and media coverage.

The videos, captured remotely during lockdown, featured everything from interviews with Care England, to investigating how ACS helped the West Midlands Combined Authority’s Homelessness Taskforce offer the region’s vulnerable families increased housing security. In an interview with the Law Society Gazette, Peter Hubbard, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, urged other legal firms and wider businesses to recognise the power of working with a clear purpose.

Love your car, even in Lockdown 

Valentine’s Day was a gift that kept on giving at Story. With the UK off the road, we uncovered data about drivers’ car check and maintenance habits, before shaping up a series of GIFs and visuals, alongside sharp messages for media, stakeholders and social channels for Highways England, reminding people to love their car, even in lockdown. 

Hitting new heights in Birmingham’s Gun Quarter

Climbing 21-storeys high, we marked the topping out of St Joseph’s first project in Birmingham with a socially distanced photoshoot and press announcement.

The tallest of five buildings – The Regent – at Snow Hill Wharf reached its highest point, as St Joseph gears up to welcome its first residents later this year.
